BULGARIAN WINDOW CLEANING CUP

OFFICIAL RULES

Rules for participation, competition format, judging and determining the champion of the Bulgarian Window Cleaning Cup.

01

COMPETITION FORMAT

The Bulgarian Window Cleaning Cup is held over two competition rounds. The first round determines the three best competitors, who advance to the final.

The results from the first round do not carry over to the final. The three finalists start the second round from zero.

02

REGISTRATION AND ENTRY FEE

Participation in the Bulgarian Window Cleaning Cup requires advance registration through the official registration form and payment of the entry fee set by the Organiser.

The entry fee is payable only by registered competitors taking part in the competition for the Bulgarian Window Cleaning Cup grand prize.

The amount of the fee, payment deadline and payment methods will be announced separately by the Organiser.

A competitor’s registration is considered finally confirmed once the entry fee has been paid.

ROUND I

QUALIFICATION

Each competitor cleans 3 windows measuring 100 × 100 cm, together with their adjoining sills.

Competitors complete the course individually. The ranking is determined by the final time after all penalty seconds have been added.

TOP 3 ADVANCE TO THE FINAL
ROUND II

TOP 3 FINAL

The three finalists clean 2 vertical windows with approximate dimensions of 2.50 × 1.20 m each.

Cleaning is carried out from the ground using telescopic equipment, provided by the Organiser.

The winner of the final becomes the champion of the Bulgarian Window Cleaning Cup.

03

START AND FINISH

The judge gives the command: “3, 2, 1 – START!”. Timing begins at that moment.

The competitor completes the attempt by clearly calling: “FINISH!”.

After “FINISH” has been called, no further cleaning, drying or correction of the windows is permitted.

04

JUDGING AND PENALTY SECONDS

Each competitor’s final result is calculated using the following formula:

ACTUAL TIME + PENALTY SECONDS

Each clearly visible defect or omission is counted as one error.

1 ERROR = +15 SECONDS

An error includes, for example, a visible spot, squeegee line, residual water, visible dirt, an uncleaned area, an uncleaned edge or corner.

The same mark or defect is not counted repeatedly as several separate errors.

05

SILLS

The adjoining sills are part of the competition task. They must be wiped with a cloth to remove visible dirt, water and foam.

The sill does not need to be completely dry. Normal residual moisture after wiping is not considered an error.

06

EQUIPMENT

The Organiser provides identical basic equipment and equal conditions for all competitors.

The basic equipment includes a squeegee, applicator, bucket, water, neutral detergent and cloths for cleaning the sills.

Competitors may use their own cloth for corrections and drying the glass, but only before calling “FINISH”.

07

RANKING

The competitor with the lowest final time in the respective round ranks higher.

In the first round, the top three competitors qualify for the final. In the final, the ranking is determined entirely by the results from the second round.

08

TIEBREAK

If competitors have the same final time, priority is given to the competitor with fewer recorded errors.

If the number of errors is also equal, the faster actual time prevails.

In the event of a complete tie, the Organiser may hold an additional deciding round.

09

DISQUALIFICATION

A competitor may be disqualified for:

• using prohibited or unauthorised equipment;
• deliberately skipping part of the competition task;
• making corrections after calling “FINISH”;
• a repeated false start after an official warning;
• deliberately damaging competition equipment;
• obstructing another competitor;
• unsportsmanlike or aggressive conduct;
• refusing to follow instructions from the judges or organisers.
10

JUDGES’ DECISION

The official competition judges carry out the assessment after each attempt and determine the number of penalty seconds.

In the event of a dispute, the final decision is made by the head judge and the Organiser of the Bulgarian Window Cleaning Cup.

IMPORTANT

By submitting a registration, the participant confirms that they have read these Rules and accept the conditions of participation in the Bulgarian Window Cleaning Cup.
